Day 4 of our visit to Norway. We were amazed to wake up this morning to this! What a difference a day makes!
Today we resolved to take a hike from Huakeliseter Fjellstue to Kista. Kista is 1306m high and sits directly in front of our lodge. The hike is a 12km round trip which should take about 4 hours according to the hiking notes. Ha! Ha!
We took 6 and a half hours and got hopelessly lost in the process! In the course of the walk we noticed quite a few Norwegians out for a “stroll” on the path with their dogs. We struggled our way up and then back down again. Of course they left us in their dust – dogs and all – and we didn’t catch sight of any of them again for the rest of the day – especially aggravating as we puffed our sorry legs home in the late afternoon.
It didn’t help that the path petered out quite a few times and the supposed “markers” were non-existent so that we spent a lot of time re-tracing our steps and doubting ourselves….or is that just a likely excuse!
Anyway, we saw an extraordinary landscape and did something healthy to boot. So enjoy the photos – they speak for themselves!
